Night-Import: Photography by William Lee, Andy Nguyen, Nick Schultz, and Hooni
XDC (Xtreme Drift Circuit) is one of those events opened to many amateurs, or according to XDC, privateer drivers, to compete against each other for the XDC Championship title. When and how the event started is a mystery to us, but according to many participants and spectators at the event today, it seems like XDC started last year.
Yesterday's event was the official first launch of the season and for the first time ever, XDC collaborated with REMIX for an even better show. There were two separate sections; car show and drifting.
Personally, this event will probably be one of my most memorable events ever because it was the first time our CA staffs went full force and had all media access. Our photographers Andy Nguyen, Nick Schultz, and Hooni covered the drifting event and Edgar Lozoya and I were walking around the car show area to do interviews and coverage. There are tons of photos to share and as always, we'll be sharing every single photo as much as possible. (Coverage will be separated according to our photographers assigned area).
Hooni and I left pretty early to see the turnout after hearing from one of the REMIX staffs on Friday saying 270+ cars registered. 200+? I don't really think so... but let me tell you the turnout was MUCH better than the event at San Diego. Thank goodness...
Lyna Sparks and her bf from EuroProjektz.
I'm pretty sure you won't find a sexier looking 8 series.
Mini Copper in style.
Saw Megan Racing bringing in their drift car so a quick shot.
There's Low N Slow. The earliest crew that rolled in and got sent in the latest.
Back to EuroProjecktz.
I gotta admit this crew has some sick cars.
Hanging around in the lot, I found this Corolla..sounds boring right?
I see the nice fitment going on..but what's so special about this car?
BOOM! s2k engine.
30 minutes or so, Platinum VIP guys rolled in through a special entrance.
A reason why these guys get treated differently.
About 20 cars from Platinum VIP came in to show. Now that's a huge crew.
Around 10:30am, we went in with Low N Slow and saw most of the cars getting ready for the show. Spotted the LS1 S14 and Evo's from Tomei.
You know what's loud? You're looking at one.
O yes...more to come.
So I'm walking around to see the show cars and I spot 2 guys holding cameras.
I turn around to see what was going on and saw all these girls holding Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton wearing and holding girls coming out from a van. I was minding my own business and one of the girls taps my shoulder to ask me a question. "Umm.....are you the guy from Tokyo Drift?"
Jose Romo's Audi, the EuroTuner star.
Team Outcast with their sexy G's. More photos later on.
Matte Black G.
I've never seen this widebody Supra, but it was wide as hell.
Sound system of that 8 series from EuroProjektz.
I have no knowledge on Trucks, but after talking with the owner, I now know this Truck is full of win. Diesel Turbocharger, custom trunk, etc. It did look familiar and recognized it was at SEMA.
Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton girls walking around and sitting in luxurious cars.
Cressida parked hard.
S13 brothers from Low N Slow. I was going to wait and say this later on, but out of all the S13's I've seen so far, these two are the best. I'll show you why later on.
Sponsored car from NOS Energy Drinks.
Does it need an introduction?
Tony Pham's DD Miata.
Team Praxis brought out their sexy cars.
Congratz on the win guys and thx for letting me stand on top of the truck. :D
Drool...VIP Modular repping 350Z. It's on air, but this car was driving REALLY low.
Couple more cars from Platinum VIP.
We've featured Charle's 'previous' Q. Why previous? Because he gave this car to his brother and he got himself a Lexus LS.
Dino Images and our editor Edgar Lozoya talking with 'soon-to-be featured' Evo.
One of the first SC's I've seen since my step into the automotive scene. Loved it and still love it.
I was going to do a Random Spotlight for this car, and still thinking if I should because the photos came out nasty.
Well modified Type R converted Civic.
Bike crew near the main entrance.
Really didn't understand why this company even had a booth at a drifting event.
Keith's, aka Keychain, Accord sitting pretty at the parking lot.
Time for the Platinum VIP cars. Starting off with this BMW.
Platinum VIP boss's car.
No idea what was going on here, but Kennedy and Chris posing.
Joey from FckYourCrew and Nick Schultz checking out the cars.
I've never seen these wheels, so just posting it up.
Instead of 'Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton' girls, I'll keep it short and say camera girls.
We met the dad at Extreme Autofest and this time, he brought out his son!
Jason Wong's S14 from 626 Drift.
and his brother's, Jackon Wong, Amuse s2k. It was so amusing I had to wait and take photos later on.
Vivek's G from Team Outcast.
I know him! It's the guy from Elite-Autosports!
I think this Supra belonged to Dan, the driver of the FC Rx-7, which we saw from Sideway Sundays preview post.
I don't know what was up with the photographer but he was shooting models REALLY close.
The widebody Supra we saw earlier.
Leo's Celica from Baja Mexico. Spotlight feature soon.
I know, you know and he, she knows this Integra is sexy.
Night-Import photographers, Andy Nguyen and Nick Schultz, having a can of NOS. Thanks again Andy for coming all the way from NorCal to do coverage. By the way, that hat is awesome.
JDM Sport! More photos of their products soon.
There are too many photos to post up and I dislike dumping in the photos at the last part of a coverage because it's not fun and not our style. I'll continue with part 2 after I come back from the NASTIE garage car meet.
