It's pretty rare for Speedhunters to host a meet. Wait, let me take that back; they 'never' created a meet and even if they did, it never happened in SoCal. I might be wrong, but stepping into the automotive scene since June of 2010, checking Speedhunters was a daily routine and I've never seen or heard Speedhunters creating a meet/event.
This month's theme for Speedhunters was 'meets' and at the right time, they coincided with the launch date of NFS's new Shift series, Shift 2, to have a launch release party/meet. For some reason, this special event wasn't promoted as much. However, top rides in SoCal came to support and Source Interlink Media's office was opened for spectators to look around and tryout the new game. Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chris Rado were present with their ultimate cars as well.
During my way to the meet after LTBMW's grand opening, I spotted Bisi's wagon. This machine is a beast!
Source Interlink's lot was already full.
Now to the cars.
I heard something really loud and turn my head to see Chris Rado's 1,500HP Scion tC.
I know some of you guys are already hating on it because of the front spoiler, but it has a purpose!
Back to the show cars, I see one that really didn't fit with the other rides, but it was clean! It reminds me of the cars I saw at DUB show yesterday.
Odyvia. What is it?
The headlights are from a Honda RB2 Odyssey so people usually refer it as a Odyssey + Silvia = Odyvia. The body kit is made by Motohiro Taniguchi, owner of Spirit Rei.
It was a surprise to see ARK Performance's project Genesis Coupe.
Slammed and daily driven.
Some rides you don't see too often at car shows.
Monster widebody Supra.
Nicely converted Civic.
Spotted Chris Rado doing an interview.
It was running on White Volk TE37's before and now on BBS LM's.
Built to track.
Black Chrome Work Meister's....daym!
Full of win!
Busted but still sexy.
Bisi's Beast.
Driven/Owned by the creator of The Chronicles.
Both of the offices/warehouse of Source Interlink was opened for spectators. Inside this warehouse were cars, DJ, drinks, etc.
Closer look into Chris Rado's World Racing Scion tC.
For kids to play Shift 2.
For adults.
DJ of the day.
Here's Vaughn Gittin Jr. playing Shift 2, shared by Jay.
Vaughn's RTR-X.
The warehouse next door was where the interview and photoshoots were happening.
I walked around the parking lot area to see what kind of cars were parked. Source Interlink's main lot was already full, so I was expecting to see some nicely modded cars, like this G from team Shyne.
The cleanest Hachi Roku with a s2k engine got its spotlight when it rolled in.
Had a great time on Saturday checking out some sick rides. Looking forward to the next meet by Speedhunters.
