Night-Import: Photography by William Lee
By the time I took out my camera to shoot at the Fatlace:Slammed Society Car Show area, the top 32 qualified drifters were practicing and the air was filled with tire smoke (look at the cover photo!). But for some reason, I loved it! I was missing an actual drifting event after last year's Formula D at Irwindale Speedway.
What was important for our site though, was to bring our fans coverage on all the areas of Formula D, which is why our photographers had to separate and be responsible for what they had to do. In my case, I took care of the Car Show area hosted by Fatlace.
I might've missed some cars, so don't get all crazy if you don't see your ride on our coverage. We still love you! (not in a gay way).
It was my first time ever going to Long Beach's Formula D event and the amount of cars that participated in the Slammed Society Car Show was greater than I expected. I enjoyed the few hours talking with friends I didn't see for a long time and taking photos.
Password:JDM & Tecnocraft brought out their project cars and to those who went to this event, you guys were the first ones to look at the cars! The GT-R by Password:JDM will be fully featured on OpenClutch, so make sure to check it out this week!
Norman came out with this Previa. He doesn't show his car too often, so it was great seeing his ride again.
Team Shyne is a pretty big group, but only one came out to represent.
VIP Modular Wheels equipped 350Z.
Now the sun wasn't helping at all and because I'm not a person that likes to wait when it comes to taking photos of cars or just in general, I took some time to take some rear shots of the cars. I would say Part II is somewhat of a teaser and Part III or IV will cover most of the cars.
Absolutely gorgeous! This was my first time ever seeing this FD. According to a friend of mine, it was featured on SuperStreet.
Can it get any VIP'er?
My eyes were purified by looking at these VIP cars. Much more later on.
Cressida on Eurolines? Not looking too shabby.
Carl's IS. His feature here.
Currently, the best looking VIP car on my list.
BP VIP was representing hardcore. Loved their rides.
I remember seeing this TL at Autofashion's Meet & Greet last year. Winning!
Always good to see Big Mike's Prelude.
Five Axis & Air Runner equipped Lexus.
Carbon Fiber covered Civic. Not bad at all.
Allen Toma's newly done tC, one of the staffs from Daily Driven.
Nissan Cube from Team Hybrid.
Back to some rear shots, Mikey's xB was looking good like always.
Probably one of the best finished BBS LM's. You can't really see them in this photo, but the faces are powdercoated White.
Noel's Corolla, a photographer for Canibeat.
Clean Clean Clean!
Not 'one of my..' but favorite S13 Convt.
MR2's should be modified like this one.
LS1 S14! Thanks for rocking our decal yo!
Guess what motor this classic is running on.
Soooo clean and slammed.
A quick head turn and I see Platinum VIP. Photos of their rides later on.
Nimo's Accord on new wheels! Representing Hoodrats.
Anthony's RHD CR-X.
Thanks for representing guys!
Pretty sure that guy went home with a stiff neck.
We'll be back with Part III and hopefully go on with the actual Formula Drift Round 1 photos. If there is a specific photo from this coverage that you guys will like to see on our Wallpaper section, which will be up by this week, please leave a comment!
