We want to bring you guys a car that's definitely worth an exposure and sure enough, we're bringing you one today. Once in awhile, we will go over our boundaries and feature something that's never been or 'thought of to be featured', on our site. What do I mean?
Well check out this 2008 Pontiac G8 GT, converted into a Holden Commodore SS-V.
Although we have the term 'Import' in our site's name, we are opened to any model/brand and even more opened to cars that were built to surprise the automotive community.
Tony Husted's Pontiac is one of those rides that will overwhelm you today and you'll see why in a few seconds.
Tony isn't new when it comes to Pontiac cars. His history in the automotive scene already being introduced in Auto Eclectic Magazine, he was a highly ranked staff for a Pontiac GMC dealership and knowing all the technicalities behind a Pontiac car wasn't a difficulty. After purchasing the G8, his plans on modifying the car happened instantly.
As planned, converting the G8 to a Holden Commodore was on its way by Aldercrest Auto Rebuild. Most of you guys know that a 'conversion' is not as easy as it might seem and sound. There needs to be a flawless fitment all around with the minor details being modified into perfection. As you can see through the stunning photos taken by JMR Photography, the conversion was a success.
Drawing attention was what Tony wanted, and of course, the choice of wheels was definitely crucial. It started off with Savini wheels, to Vossen VVS-082s, and finally Niche Sport staggered 20" wheels.
Lowered on Pedder's XA Coilovers, the overall drop flows well and gives the car an even more aggressive look.
What we really want to see though, is the beast under the hood. Already having a powerful stock motor, a L76, Tony added a few more goodies to enhance its power, but unfortunately, it didn't last too long. That's when the magicians Vector Motorsports became a helping hand, building a 427ci LS3 Forged Stroker.
According to Tony,
"Once the tune is finalized, and the motor broken in fully, it will be revisiting the dyno. Goal, 500rwhp!"
