Night-Import: Photography by Kaoru Shoji | Words by William Lee
This past weekend at Osaka, Japan, our photographer Kaoru san attended an event called Super Carnival hosted by one of the biggest magazines in Japan, AF Imp (Auto Fashion Import). AF Imp has been publishing their own line of magazines for years and is known for introducing newest to modified European cars. This event by AF Imp is held annually and always overcrowded with spectators with the sickest cars in Japan.
The European car scene here in the states is much bigger than Japan, but the way each country modifies the cars are a bit different. Through this coverage, you'll be seeing how it's done in Japan.
I personally haven't seen a highly modified Mini Copper yet and I wonder how much these companies go into when it comes to modifying one.
Mini Cooper by Mini Garden.
Carbon Fiber front end along with the hood. Amazing.
DueIL AG is a company specialized in making parts for only Mini Coopers. Seems like this is the newly released body kit for its model.
A mix of White trims.
Loving the custom paint color on the body and Steffan BCW 5 spoke wheels.
Can't go wrong with a shaved VW on BBS RSs.
Intense!!! The newest Volk TE37 G2s in F-Zero Blue and Brembo BBKs showing itself from those sexy spokes.
VW GTI on a body kit made by NEWING, a company specialized in making body kits for Volkswagons.
Those wheels look pretty dam sexy.
BMW on HRE wheels? Classiness.
Some wheels you and I have probably never seen before were on so many cars at this event.
I recently found out about this wheel company called Hyper Forged in Japan and most of their cars are in the luxurious to exotic lines that are very well fitted.
I was looking at this photo for quite a long time and was amazed at what I believe is a vinyl overlay.
End.cc is known for making parts for BMWs.
Wanted to see more on this Benz.
Widebody E90 from Apple A-Real. Not too wide, but has an interesting and attractable look.
Wow. Never seen a VW with a hood like that.
If it wasn't sexy enough.
Custom painted Volk TE37SLs.
A vinyl? Think again. According to few sources, a patterned filmed was on the car and then painted on top to get this diamond shape. This A6 by Artis caught a lot of attention by many Medias during Tokyo Auto Salon 2011.
Rotiform is even popular in Japan.
Classic VW Truck running on ITBs.
Ericsson Powerhouse Amuse Body Kit on this M3.
I'm liking the widebody kit on this VW Golf.
Of course, we can't forget about Porsches by RAUH Welt-BEGRIFF (RWB).
The 993R by RWB with the name Afromania.
Classics on RSs. A perfect combo.
You're not seeing things. That front bumper is in full Carbon Fiber.
Once again, thanks to our photographer Kaoru san for an awesome coverage.
