Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
One of the grateful things that ever happened to me in the 'scene' is being able to meet people in the automotive industry and through those people meeting others that have contributed vastly to make this scene even better than how it is today. When I mean by better, it's not only referring to people but cars in general; breaking our perspectives of how much power a car can put out or modifying a car differently and surprising the world. We get interested in a specific company or person that has done the job and the unconditional support starts from there. A company I came across that strongly relates to this story is SP Engineering located in City of Industry, CA. I actually did not know about SP Engineering until one of the staffs contacted me through facebook, asking if I was interested in shooting a car that no one has seen. It was an honor and a time period when I realized my hard work has paid off. With the upmost feeling, I headed down to SP to see what the surprise was, and sure enough, I was stunned and speechless.

Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
After much debate, I decided to sell some products because of constant requests I've been getting through e-mails. I'm not a huge fan when it comes to selling things, but it seems like many of you guys wanted to rep my blog. I didn't want to be too hasty with what I wanted to sell, so to start it off, there will be only decals available in certain colors. What you see above were the limited edition ones and will not be back in stock until I decide to sell them again. The only reason why these were made in such a small batch was because of the difficulty level of slapping them on and the extra work the decal maker had to go through.
The official decals will look similar to the ones pictured above, but without the line and wording after Night Import. Price for the official decals will be $5 (free shipping) and an extra $1.50 to be shipped internationally. The size of decal is approximately 15 x 1.5 inches. These are on pre-order sale and will be in stock hopefully by next week. Woot Woot!

Enjoying the beautiful weather in California, but grinding my teeth because of ridiculous gas prices, the best way to deal with my ups and downs was to attend a car meet! You know there will be at least one meet during the weekends, so I always tend to plan ahead by calling my friends to come out to a certain meet or go alone to see what's up. Last Sunday, I stepped out of my house to buy a toner for my old ass printer, but after finding out Office Depot didn't have any for my printer model, I was just sitting in my car, thinking of what to do. If I wanted to be a studious person, I would've gone to a local cafe to study, but because it was a weekend and I wanted to do something else than shove my face in medical books, I hit up my good friend Lauren who works at Mida Sushi to bother her. She reminded me about a meet I attended last month hosted by Royal Flush at Ray-Ray Restaurant located in El Monte and told me RF was doing it again. I think it's becoming a monthly meet now because the turnout is pretty dam good. Other than the cars though, I like the drinks at Ray Ray's, so that's another reason why I wanted to go :)

Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
How's it going guys! Welcome back to my blog. Things have been pretty hectic these days, which is why you guys aren't seeing a lot of features or coverages, but I'm starting to go out there when I can and because SoCal is about to get packed with meets and events, you'll be coming back to this blog almost every week just to check out what I covered (^-^)v I can tell you that my activeness in the scene won't be as much as last year because of my priorities, but I promise you that NI won't die out. Don't forget my blog has contributing photogs around the world, so you'll be seeing some awesome contents from them as well.
I'm sure many of you guys have noticed the constant event invites through facebook or new posts on forums regarding upcoming events, especially in Southern California. Looking through my event calendar today in the morning, there are more than 10 events in the next 2 months, so I'm pretty much listing which ones to go to rather than trying to go to every single event. I can say yesterday's meet hosted by Wrong Fitment Crew was a start to all the msjor meets because it had a great turnout! If it was your first time attending a car meet, then you went to the right one. I saw a few new cars and ones that changed a bit, so I'm excited to see the unexpected this year.

Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
So I'm back again with some coverage to share with you guys today. I know the blog has been quiet these days, but that's because I've been studying almost every single day and was not active during this past 1~2 months. Last week was also Wekfest in San Francisco, the biggest car show in California, and everyone that I know of was preparing for the show, so SoCal was pretty dam quiet. All I saw on Facebook were updates regarding Wekfest and it was killing me because I couldn't attend it! There were some priorities I needed to take care of, so sorry guys for not being able to cover Wekfest :/ I'll keep you guys updated on facebook with all the coverages on the event once I take a look at them, but so far, I haven't seen any other than MotorMavens.

Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
I felt as if I haven't gone to a car show for years! Actually..it's been only 2 months after attending AutoCon last year, but for some reason, that 2 months was a wait. I did go to car meets and stuff, but the atmosphere of a car show was something I truly missed. Luckily, my boy Alvin, owner of Import Fashion, worked his ass off to lock down a venue and create his own show for the enthusiasts. There were some complications last year when he tried to have his 1 yr. anniversary meet, but gladly things worked out well this year and the planned meet turned into an event.
Alvin is a close friend of mine in and outside of the car scene and our friendship started even before my blog was created. We actually launched our sites around the same time period, which is why I've been going to car shows and meets with him pretty often in the past. When I heard he was finally having his own show, I couldn't be any happier. His work throughout the months was appreciated by many because of covering both models and cars. I would say his blog's content was more toward models. According to Alvin, he will be featuring more cars this year, so stay tuned! I could go on and on about how awesome Alvin is, but instead of writing down my thoughts like I always do with coverages, I'll jump into the coverage on Import Showcase by Import Fashion.

Night Import: Photography and Words by William Lee
It is rather rare to see Scions being featured in magazines these days. Other than the ones driven by professional drivers and drifters, Scions in general are difficult to modify when it comes to performance or even just for style because of the poor aftermarket support. However, there are a few out there that are overwhelming, like this xB built by Mike, CEO/owner of M2-Motoring. I've known Mike for over a year now because of owning a Scion and always thought of him as a high person because of his renown work in the automotive scene. His projects were displayed at numerous car shows such as SEMA and LA Auto Show. But today, putting aside his project builds, let me introduce you to his personal ride, the Scion xB.

I've been looking through my past features and coverages during this past week and realized how horrible I was with editing. I'm sure many of you guys who are into photography know exactly what I'm talking about and I'm pretty positive some of you guys looked through my site wasn't pleased with some the photography part of Night Import. Don't worry, I won't hate you (^_^) Well, to make things better, I'm re-working on all of those photos, such as the set on Carl's IS. Today, I'm going to reintroduce Daniel Spielman's twin-turbo 350Z from Team Hybrid. There will be no descriptions on any of the mods or so because his ride has already been featured last year. I've been waking up with migraines almost every day because of work and studying. Consuming more than 3 cups of coffee at Starbucks and Korean Cafes is probably the reason why I've been so stressed and really irritated with small things happening around me. But I think it's been getting better after having a girlfriend and thinking positively, so that's an update with my life. For those who know my car, it's been the same since last year and will be going through a makeover hopefully by next month, but that's just a speculation.
Anyways, yesterday was the birthday of a good friend of mine, Carl Zamuco, owner of the IS from BP VIP I featured back in Feb. 7, 2011. After visiting his facebook profile page to write down Happy Birthday, I looked through my Flickr account to see the photos that were posted on his feature. Realizing how much of a noob I was back then with post-processing, I decided to re-edit a few photos I personally liked. All the full-res photos are gone because of my hard drive crashing, so I had to work with what I had... (ㅜㅜ) I'm still in the process of learning PP skills from various photographers, so don't expect some crazy edits (^_^) Thanks to my boy John Zhang aka 1013mm for helping me out!

Night Import: Photography by Frederic Schlosser | Words by William Lee
One category of cars I rarely feature on my blog is Domestics. Don't get me wrong, there are a few out there that I truly love and appreciate, but because of my blog being dedicated to mostly imports, I'm more focused on Japan and European cars. But today, I want to introduce you to a beast that many hasn't seen, as well as introducing our new contributing photographer Frederic Schlosser.
I came across Frederic's work through my fanpage not too long ago and was astound with his amazing photography work. Even more surprisingly, he is only 18 years old and his work is complimented by many professional photographers in the scene today. Having such a great talent, his work with cars has been expanding tremendously throughout the years. From imports like GT-R R35s to exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis, I had to approach Frederic and ask if he was interested in being a contributing photographer for my blog and luckily, he accepted to join. As much as I am grateful for his contribution, Frederic decided to share a set of photos only for Night Import, which is a Corvette built by a well-known automotive precision company called TIKT Performance.
